OUR PRODUCTION

Helix EOOD has been mining raw vermiculite in Livade deposit near the village of Belitsa, Ihtiman municipality. Vermiculite is extracted by using open-pit mining techniques, through digging.

After being extracted, the raw material is screened by on-site fitted mobile screening plant. The selected raw vermiculite is transported to the Raw Vermiculite Separating Installation in the village of Gara Elin Pelin where it is enriched by using a drying method. The Raw Vermiculite Separating Installation is newly built, operating fully automated production processes. These processes include drying, screening, pneumatic-gravitational and magnetic separation. Quality control is strictly exercised at all stages of vermiculite processing.

An on-site testing laboratory has been closely monitoring the characteristics of the produced vermiculite concentrate, such as: proper separation of fractions, bulk weight, expansion rate, humidity and impurities as prescribed by the Vermiculite Test Methods of the Vermiculite Association (TVA). A qualitative analysis for asbestos is performed by the internationally-recognized accredited IOM Laboratory in Edinburgh, Scotland.

PACKAGING AND TRANSPORTATION

Generally vermiculite concentrate is packaged in Big Bags of 1-1.2 tons. Helix EOOD may provide other forms of packaging according to the specific customer’s requirements.

This product is not classified as dangerous goods for transportation. Hazard symbols and labels are not required.
